Data retention policy
When you use Gator to create a new scheduled message, Gator will retain the contents of that message until it is delivered. For the vast majority of messages sent with Gator, this time period is less than 24 hours. But Gator does allow users to schedule messages up to 30 days in the future, which is the maximum amount of time we could retain your message data. Throughout this entire process, Gator does not intentionally store any personally identifiable information (PII) on our servers. The only PII which Gator will store is that which you include in the contents of messages you schedule with Gator. Gator also retains non-personally identifiable metadata about your Gator usage which we use to help improve our service. Examples of this metadata include: the number of users in your Slack workspace who have authorized Gator and the number of messages those users have sent.
Data archiving and removal policy
Gator erases the contents of your messages as soon as they are delivered. To delete a message which has not yet been delivered, run the "/gator list" command, find your message, and use the "..." menu to select the option to delete that message. If you intend to stop using Gator completely, you can delete all pending messages by revoking your Slack authorization for the Gator app. Uninstalling Gator for all users in your Slack workspace will also delete pending messages from all users.
Data storage policy
Gator stores your data in a secure database hosted in the United States with Heroku (https://www.heroku.com/), our infrastructure provider. Our entire database is encrypted, and the contents of your messages uses another layer of encryption in addition to the database-wide policy.

Most users can delete all their personal Gator data simply by revoking their Slack authorization for Gator. To remove all Gator data for your workspace, you can also uninstall the Gator Slack app completely. Users who upgraded to a paid Gator plan will also need to email help@gator.works to cancel their subscription. Heroku (https://www.heroku.com/) is used to host Gator's web application and manage server infrastructure on our behalf, including Gator's databases. Sentry (https://sentry.io/) is used to diagnose and remedy problems with the Gator web application. Stripe (https://stripe.com/) processes payments on our behalf, so Gator never stores your payment information. As part of our integration with Stripe, if you purchase a Gator subscription we will gain access to your name and email address. Sumo Logic (https://www.sumologic.com/) is used to monitor Gator's web application and troubleshoot errors. IP addresses are the only personally identifiable information transferred, and log entries are deleted after 7 days.
