Data retention policy
We generally retain your information only as long as reasonably necessary to provide you the Services or to comply with applicable law. When your organization cancels the Service or deletes your information, we will permanently delete that information within 90 days, except when required to retain the information by applicable law, and except for deleting copies from backup systems, which shall be deleted in accordance with Pingboard’s standard backup deletion policies.
Database backups are for disaster recovery purposes only, and retained for 30 days.
Data archiving and removal policy
Subscriber and Users may input or upload text, images, videos, files, links, works of authorship, materials, comments, status updates, location information and other content (“Content”). We do not claim ownership of the Content. By posting or sharing Content, Subscriber and Users grant to Pingboard only the limited rights in the Content that are reasonably necessary for Pingboard to provide the Service. During the Term of this Agreement you will have the ability, in a manner consistent with the functionality of the Services, to access, download, modify, and delete your Content. If you delete any User, you will no longer be able to access the Content for that User. Upon termination of this Agreement, you will no longer have access to your Content, and we will permanently delete your Content from the production systems within 90 days, or sooner upon request. To the extent the Content has been archived to backup systems, that archived copy will be destroyed in accordance with Pingboard’s standard backup destruction policies. Your Content does not include aggregate anonymous data or system generated data about your use of the Services, such as user behavior or resource utilization, so long as no personal data is included. A user can send pingboard a request if they would like to know what personal data we have about them or would like us to correct inaccurate data, delete personal data, or restrict the use of personal data. If the request to access, block, erase or take other action with respect to data that we have solely as a data processor for our customer (typically your employer), first contact our customer with the request. We commit to responding to your request promptly and honoring your reasonable requests. We will comply with all applicable legal requirements related to your requests, but please note that we are not required by law to delete or restrict the use of your data in a way that prevents us from complying with our legal obligations to our customer or that interferes with our reasonable record keeping as necessary to demonstrate compliance with our contracts and applicable law.
Data storage policy
Pingboard will remove customer data in accordance with our terms of service. We will retain your personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, and to comply with our legal obligations, and will use secure means to destroy the data after that time. We may retain your personal data for a longer period in the event of a complaint or if we reasonably believe there is a prospect of litigation in respect to our relationship with you.
Data Security and Availability
Transport layer encryption (SSL/TLS) is implemented for all client-server communication. Versions of TLS and SSL prior to TLS 1.2 are not supported. Customer data is encrypted at-rest.
Pingboard’s production environment is physically separate from development and test environments, and production data is never replicated to other environments.
For data redundancy, data in the application database is backed up in multiple data centers for disaster recovery purposes daily. Data restoration procedures are tested bi-annually. Backups are retained for 30 days.
